You may even be interested in creating a themed scrapbook such as Christmas scrapbook or a vacation themed scrapbook which features your family’s travel photos.
Tie-dye t-shirts
If you can remember how much fun you had creating your own tie-dye t-shirts as a child, it’s well worth teaching your own kids how to make tie-dye t-shirts. In order to create one of a kind tie-dye t-shirts all you’ll need is a few simple craft supplies. Examples of which include a minimum of three different colors of fabric dye, a cup of salt, a pack of inexpensive rubber bands, a few large buckets and a scoop which has a long handle.
To make your first tie-dye t-shirt grab place each separate color of fabric dye in a different bucket with a few heaps of salt. The latter of which will help your tie-shirt absorb the dye in each bucket faster. Next tie your t-shirt into different sections which you can tie rubber bands around. Then place each section in a different color dye for a minimum of 10 minutes. Once each section of your t-shirt is adequately dyed remove your t-shirt from your last bucket using your scoop and rinse your t-shirt under cold water until the water runs clear through your shirt. Before placing your t-shirt in the wash on a cold cycle.
Egg decorating
This particular activity is ideally suited to Easter time but you may want to decorate hard boiled eggs with your kids at any time of year. As an example, you may want to paint a few eggs as Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman during the festive season. Remember that when it comes to arts and crafts, you’re only limited by your own imagination!
Just be sure to hard boil your eggs before your paint them as you don’t want to paint eggs which will go off. Once your eggs have been successfully hard-boiled, simply use a pin to prick a hole at the top of each egg and to drain each egg. Before you give your eggshells to your kids to paint, it’s also well worth rinsing your eggs out with cold water, to get rid of any liquid which may still be inside your eggshells.
So next time you’re looking to distract your kids from their electronic devices or to keep your kids entertained, it’s definitely well worth trying out one of the 3 fun family friendly activities listed above!
