Captain Alexis Fecteau – Why You Will Fall in Love With a Cruise

December 18, 2019

Have you ever been on a cruise holiday? Whilst this is a travel option which is growing in popularity there are still many people who have yet to enjoy all of the amazing experiences that this can offer. My first cruise was back in 2009 when my friend and cruise captain Alexis Fecteau invited me to join him on one of his trips. I instantly fell in love with this type of trip and since then I have been on 4 more cruises, some with Alexis and a couple without. If you are able to find a cruise which fits in with your destination choice and your budget, here is why you are going to instantly fall in love with it too.

On Deck

The first thing which I was excited about when I embarked on the cruise was the experience on deck, and I was blown away by the options which we had. The time during your cruise vacation is split almost 50/50 between your time on deck and your time at a destination so it makes sense that there is much to enjoy here. There is something true amazing about floating around the ocean as you enjoy shopping experiences, playing in the pool, the wave machines or even visiting restaurants and the cinema. At night things become even more special as you are treated to some of the most breathtaking and uninterrupted views of the night sky.

Hopping Around

One reason why many think that a cruise isn’t for them is because they would prefer to go to a single destination and enjoy all that there is to offer. This is a personal choice of course but for me there was something truly wonderful about hopping from place to place, getting a taste of a destination and then moving on to somewhere entirely different. I feel that cruise vacations do give you enough time at a particular destination and it is a lovely way of sampling different places, as well as visiting spots which you may never have considered.

The People

The first point I’ll make on the people you meet on deck is that the service which you are offered is absolutely incredible, regardless of how much you have paid for your ticket. Beyond the staff I have always found the other holiday makers to be very likable and friendly, which helps given you are spending a lot of time around them! I have made some very dear friends during my cruises and I know that you will too.

Surprises

I have had some incredible surprises on board cruise ships such as seeing shooting stars, watching school of dolphins follow our ship for a day and we even saw a humpback whale on my last trip. There is always something to surprise you on a cruise ship and whilst this may not be guaranteed, when it does happen it will leave you in complete awe.

Cruise ship holidays are so enjoyable and I’d recommend them to anyone who is looking for something different.
