5 Ways to Pamper Your Dog

January 23, 2020

Who doesn’t love to be pampered? Well, this even extends to dogs. When taking into account how pooches offer unconditional love and are always there to pick you up when needed, it’s only fair to indulge them in return. Not only will it enhance their mood, it can also improve their general standard of life.

If you’re wondering what options are available when in it comes to pampering dogs, here are five methods to show your furry friend just how much you love them:

Allow them to sleep in comfort

As much as your dog enjoys playtime and going on long walks, they also like to rest and recharge. In fact, they spend much of their day sleeping. Due to this, you should make their sleeping arrangements as comfortable as possible.

A big, squishy bed is a good starting point. This can be combined with an orthopedic pillow and many blankets.

A trip to the spa

For most dogs, they don’t particularly enjoy the experience of bath time. However, going to a specialist dog spa is different. With the animal’s care and welfare at the forefront, a dog spa will leave them fresh and happy.

If you are fortunate enough to live in Pennsylvania, you will be able to find groomers in King of Prussia and Glen Mills. Instead of simply bathing them, a specialist groomer will also provide the likes of a nail trim, teeth brushing, and haircut. Your dog will never have looked – or felt – better.

Create a paradise of fun in the backyard

When walking just isn’t enough to burn off all that energy, you could create a backyard that is designed specifically for your dog to have fun. For example, you can add the likes of a splash pool, tunnels, and a designated zone for digging.

Although when designing this doggy-centric haven, don’t forget their wellbeing. The backyard should have a tall fence, shelter space from rain and wind, and a self-filling water station for when the dog needs a drink.

Cook up some homemade treats

There’s no way of hiding it: dogs love food. When you are cooking meals or eating, they will often be watching intently with the hope of enjoying any scraps! With this in mind, you should take the time to cook your dog homemade treats and meals. Not only will they love receiving this food, you can also prepare it so that it’s rich in nutrients.

If you fail to find the time to prepare the treats yourself, you will be able to find alternatives at the local pet store or via specialist online retailers.

Plan out activities

Dogs can easily get bored. They like to be running around, digging, and having fun. So being cooped up at home isn’t going to get their excitement levels up.

To keep boredom from creeping in, plan various dog-themed activities. If they enjoy going to the beach or swimming, you should aim to do this at least once a week. Although simply going to the park and playing fetch will ensure your dog is having fun.
